The famed Alley Cats doo-wop quartet will come to Farmerville, LA, on Saturday, May 3 for two events:
At 1 p.m., a free workshop for community, church, and school-based singing groups and leaders. Register at 318-368-7570 or email@example.com. Workshop will focus on stage presence, harmony, and audience interaction. At Union Christian Academy gym, 700 S. Main St., Farmerville, LA. Workshop will last one hour.
At 5:30 p.m. – the DOO-WOPALOOZA! This will be a fun evening celebrating the swingin’ good times of the 1950s. We’ll enjoy the food, dance, cars, and most of all, the MUSIC of those days when Elvis, Lucy, Chubby Checker, and others reigned supreme. The awesome Alley Cats are known across the U.S. for their entertaining doo-wop performances, outstanding singing skills, and stage antics. Since 2007, they have been the opening act for Jay Leno at the Mirage in Las Vegas; Leno says of the Cats, “These guys are a tough act to follow. They’re talented, funny and a must see.” At Union Christian Academy, 700 S. Main St., Farmerville, LA. The Alley Cats will give prizes to those wearing the best costume, so come as your favorite icon of the ’50s. This event is presented by Union Arts Council and Union Christian Academy.
